During June 2003 artists M A Longbottom and John Burnley visited St Johns Church of England Primary School, Longsight, Manchester. Linked to 'BIG ARTS WEEK' a project inviting artists to share their skills with children in schools across the country.

The students in years 5 and 6 of the school were asked to think about their space, where they live, things they like, what they hate. The artists encouraged the students to develop an abstract piece of art 25cm x 25cm in size reflecting their feelings about their chosen subject.

The results have been put on permanent show at the school and can be seen on this site by clicking artwork above. On the artwork page the images can be enlarged and further animated versions can be seen by clicking artwork 2 and 3.

The images have been placed randomely to encourage creative viewing.
